Bear River State Park is a day-use only park comprised of 324 acres. It is home to small herds of bison and elk and boasts several miles of both paved and packed gravel trails. The Bear River State Park Visitor Center is home to numerous wildlife displays that showcase Wyoming's impressive array of wildlife. It also provides visitors with state of Wyoming tourism http://information.Bear River State Park is open May 1st to September 30th from 8am to 10pm daily, and October 1st to April 30th from 8am to 8pm daily. The visitor center is open May 1st to September 30th from 8am to 5pm, and October 1st to April 30th from 8am to 5pm, Thursday thru Monday (Closed 1-2pm). No day use fees are required.

Bear River State Park offers 1.5 miles of paved nature trails that connect to the City of Evanston Bear River Greenway that offers another 2 miles of paved trails along the Bear River. In the park, there are two reservable group picnic shelters with restrooms that are ADA accessible. Of the 11 individual picnic areas, 10 of them are ADA compliant which include two-stall parking, picnic table, BBQ grill and garbage can. The Visitor Center has automatic front doors into the facility. The men's, women's and family restrooms, as well as a covered picnic shelter, are ADA compliant as well. A viewing deck over the West Bison Pasture, with telescope, is near the Visitor Center for easy access.
